My story
My name is Alex Khomutov.
I'm a Sr. Product Designer at Ford Motor Company.
I grew up in Ukraine 🇺🇦, where I earned my MA in Fine Arts. However, I don’t remember doing anything other than designing products. I got my first design job at 16, and over the last decade, I have completed hundreds of design projects.
Before joining Ford, I had been focusing on designing iOS and macOS apps. I worked at Readdle where I designed one of the most popular calendar apps for iOS and macOS — Calendars by Readdle, and a powerful document scanner app — Scanner Pro 8. Additionally, I have experience designing and launching apps from scratch. As a founding designer at Smartist, I took the project from a rough idea to live app that quickly overtook competitors and became the number one art visualization app, loved by tens of thousands of artists in the US.
My passion is designing products that simplify, organize, and enhance people's lives. So far, I have designed products that are used by more than 30,000,000 people around the world.
In 2022, I got a talent visa and moved to Los Angeles, California 🇺🇸, where I enjoy surfing, hiking, and exploring the breathtaking nature of the West Coast.
